International Day of Forests 2022 is celebrated on March 21 st of all academic year. AT SFBS, we are proud to announce the initiative of planting a sapling in our locality. Saint Francis was himself a grand conservator of nature . St Francis took morning walks in the friendly environment and spent a lot of time with the goodness of nature. It is only natural for students and staff at SFBS to commemorate today as a day of respect to forest reserve and show our support in preserving forests and planting sapling to create a cool environment.
The United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 21 March as the International Day of Forests in 2012. The Day celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all the types of forests and it’s nomenclature. So many acts of preserving trees and due to inaction, India is falling behind the ecological curve as deforestation is still massively prevalent in the country. SFBS too, being an education institution has to make papers by cutting down trees and such resources chopped down must be stopped. Today we aim to cut down the wastage of paper and encourage sharing of books and save papers by minimalising notebooks and henceforth use technology based writing tools like iPads and laptops for learning and writing purposes henceforth saving a massive use of papers. This beautiful day has a theme for this year, that is to in regards to sustainability of forests and in hopes to conserve it tomorrow.
On each International Day of Forests or world foresty day, most countries are encouraged to undertake local, national and international efforts to organize activities involving forests and trees, such as tree planting campaigns like chipko movements. The theme for each International Day of Forests is chosen by the Collaborative Partnership on Forests (CPF). Today, we at SFBS have come up with an initiative to plant more saps and ensure safe eco friendly environment for our well being.
